Spirit of Christmas - Delivered to DMC

The Emergency Room at Dale Medical Center received a donation of toys, books, coloring books, cards and other items from someone spreading the joy of Christmas, and it was not Santa Clause.

Presley England, a kindergarten student at Lisenby Elementary School made a special delivery to Dale Medical Center's Administration office recently. Her donation is a welcomed comfort to our pediatric patients in DMC's ER. Presley was previously a patient at Dale Medical Center and was given a stuffed animal which made her feel better. So she decided with the Christmas season approaching, Presley told her Mom that she wanted to donate items to the ER to be given to sick children. This project was very important to her as she had experienced the good feeling of receiving the stuffed animal as a patient. Presley began collecting items from her friends and shared with her teacher about her Christmas project. Her teacher became involved and encouraged the other children to make homemade cards to be shared with patients.

According to Presley's Mom this was a very big deal for her five year old daughter. She was focused and determined to do this and could not wait to deliver the items she had collected. "Presley has certainly captured the true spirit of Christmas, and the patients of Dale Medical Center will benefit from her generosity and love. I know she blessed the staff when we met her," said Vernon Johnson, CEO.
