BILLY PARAMORE HONORED AS 2026


ALABAMA HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION TRUSTEE OF THE YEAR - 1-23-26



(January 23, 2026)BIRMINGHAM – The Alabama Hospital Association (AlaHA) proudly announces Billy Paramore of Dale Medical Center as the recipient of the 2026 Trustee of the Year award, recognizing his decades of dedicated service to the hospital, his community, and the broader healthcare landscape in Alabama.

Danne Howard, president and CEO of the Alabama Hospital Association, emphasized how long-serving, engaged trustees like Paramore provide the leadership and perspective essential to strong hospital governance.

“We are proud to honor Billy Paramore for his remarkable contributions and selfless service,” Howard said. “His commitment, insight, and perseverance have strengthened Dale Medical Center and serve as a model for hospital trustees across the state.”

A lifelong resident of Dale County, Paramore has served on the Dale County Health Care Authority Board for 29 years. His steadfast dedication, reflected in his faithful attendance at all meetings and hospital functions, demonstrates a deep commitment to Dale Medical Center and its mission.

At the state level, Paramore has served multiple terms on the Alabama Council of Hospital Trustees and currently serves as chair-elect. He and his wife, Linda, are widely recognized for their enduring relationships within the Association and are often affectionately referred to as its “grandparents” for their warmth and hospitality.0

During his tenure, Paramore has guided Dale Medical Center through financial challenges, strategic growth, and industry-wide change. He played a key role in acquiring 83 acres for hospital expansion, completing the community Surgery Center, and developing numerous service lines, including urgent care centers, hospice and home health programs, outpatient therapy, behavioral health units, physician recruitment initiatives, a wound care center, and addiction medicine treatment services.

Beyond his work with the hospital, Paramore is a Deacon at Louisville Baptist Church, actively serves with the Baptist Association, and is retired from civil service at Fort Rucker, reflecting his broader commitment to community service.
