Home Health

Whether you're recovering from an illness or learning to deal with a disability, there's no place like home. Physicians and other healthcare professionals agree, the home environment is good medicine for many patients. Providing comprehensive, convenient healthcare in the comfort and privacy of your home is the goal of Dale Medical Center Home Health. We offer programs specifically designed to address the many and diverse needs of patients in the home setting.

Home Healthcare is:

• an extension of the doctor's care and hospital services
• provided to the patient in the home
• an array of therapeutic and support services
• care that gives a recovering patient maximum independence in the home

Home Health Services include:

• development of an individualized, physician-directed healthcare plan administered by a Registered Nurse
• RN on-call service 24 hours a day, seven days a week
• care and hygiene services provided by Home Health Aides
• rehabilitative services as prescribed by your physician

Home Health Services may be paid for by:

• Medicare/Medicaid if eligible and qualified
• private insurance which includes benefits covering appropriate physician-prescribed services provided in the home
• other financial arrangements (please contact our Business Office)

Other important information:

• To qualify for home healthcare under Medicare, a person must be home bound, under the care of a physician, and in need of skilled services on a intermittent basis. Intermittent home care services are those which are only needed a few hours per day. A patient does not have to be bedridden or totally confined to the home to qualify for Medicare reimbursement. The patient is considered "homebound" if he or she is unable to leave the home without considerable and taxing effort.
• Dale Medical Center Home Health is staffed by trained professionals. All are experienced care givers with hospital, nursing home, and/or other professional experience. We have continuing education programs to keep the staff up-to-date on the latest medical skills and techniques.
• Dale Medical Center Home Health can make arrangements for special equipment such as hospital beds and wheelchairs.
