Dale Medical Center Completes Food Drive

The staff of Dale Medical Center just completed a successful food drive. This year was the first year a hospital wide drive was organized, with a goal to collect at least 750 pounds of food. Departments competed to see which could collect the most pounds per person. At the end of the drive a total of 3,161 pounds of food was collected far exceeding the hospital's goal. The department winning the competition was patient accounts with over 600 pounds collected. They were granted one Christmas wish, and will be getting their department painted to improve the appearance to their patients. All food collected was donated to the Dale County Rescue Mission Food Pantry.

"During what are very challenging times in Healthcare, I am so proud to be associated with a staff that has not allowed today's demands and challenges to break their spirit. They have remained focused on delivering excellent care, have maintained quality and patient experience scores in the top 25% in the nation, and continue to give generously to support and meet local community needs as seen in the results of this food drive," said Vernon Johnson, CEO.
